We receive so many calls on daily basis with such questions. There is so much unsurety and misinformation among people regarding B. Ed. Course.
In our previous post B.Ed Course: from 2-years to 4-years soon, we wrote about change in duration of B Ed course. As per the statements given by officials in Feb’2018 it was said that the B Ed. 2 years course will be revamped by 4 years integrated course in 2019.
Many doubts/ questions were left unanswered at that time. Because of that – a ‘Havoc’ like situation was created by many people for their own personal benefit.
Recently, this topic was raised again in Lok Sabha, by which many misconceptions have been cleared by HRD minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar. He said, “The existing B Ed courses will continue to be there in place after the roll-out of the integrated programmes on teacher education.” He also said,” It takes four to five years in migration.”
After this the picture is clear now. Though the B Ed 2 year’s course will end but not just now or next year, but it will take 4 to 5 years to phase it out completely.
The 4 years integrated course will be for XII passed out students and 2 years course will be for graduates. Its same like LLB course that one can do either BA-LLB after XII or LLB after graduation. So the B.Ed course will be like BA-B.Ed, B.Com-B.Ed, B.Sc-B.Ed (4-year integrated course) for those who have passed their higher secondary school (10+2 class) and B.Ed (2-year) course will for those who have completed their Graduation with 50% marks.
