The University of Jammu – Directorate of Distance Education has invited application for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) 2014-16 to be offered through the distance mode. B.Ed Course from distance education. The Jammu University B.Ed distance education programme aims to develop the understanding and competencies of practicing teachers to make the teaching-learning process more effective and to share their experiences. It also provides an understanding of school management, child psychology and educational evaluation among many other things to in-service teachers.
The minimum duration of the programme is two and the maximum duration allowed to complete it is five years. The medium of instruction for all subjects is English, except for Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi which are taught in the related languages.

ELIGIBILITY
Candidates interested in doing B.Ed through distance mode from Jammu University should have Bachelors degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Medicine, Social Sciences, Veterinary Science, or Forestry. They should have at least two-years of teaching experience and should be serving as full-time teachers in a recognised school at the primary, secondary or higher secondary levels within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu.
PROCEDURE FOR THE APPLICATION
Applicants are advised to fill-in the online application form and take a print-out before submitting it for personal record. Application fee of Rs 550 is to be deposited in any of the branches of the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Bank via challan generated in process of the filling up of the Jammu University application form.
Last date to apply for the B.Ed course through distance learning mode from Jammu University is August 25, 2014. However candidates can apply till September 1 by paying an additional late fee of Rs 80.
Candidates will be elected on the merit basis. The counselling schedule will be made available on the official website by September 8, 2014.
